Drexel University’s Multicultural Collaborative at the School of Education is a hub where scholars and communities beyond the university work together to create projects that transform the lives of all students.

We value the experiences and voices of communities so often absent from texts, curricula, theories, research, and the university. Experiences once marginalized are central to the work of the Multicultural Collaborative. As lens and landscape of our work, multicultural communities shape the research and courses we develop.

Recognizing historical inequities in education, the Multicultural Collaborative identifies and creates programs that build on the strengths – the cultures, languages, histories, and families – of diverse communities.

Through university and community collaborations, the university is enriched by the vital work and new knowledge generated by communities beyond the university. We hope, too, that broader communities will benefit from the university’s programs. Together, we engage each other in thinking critically about the world and how we might transform our communities through our collective work.

We invite you to join us.
